Canoe Access – Irving Park Road and Dam 2

500 tons of outcropping flagstone for shoreline stabilization to allow canoe and emergency vehicle access to the Des Plaines River. A limestone trail and parking lot striping was completed.

Mallard Lake

Constructed a 2 mile, 10’ wide limestone trail. Drove pilings and built concrete piers for three pedestrian bridges interconnecting an island and mainland. Bridge installation included 4 spans 50’x8’; 3 spans 60’x8’; 1span 50’x10’. A floating barge was used to access the pilings and move the crane to various locations.

Spring Creek Reservoir

Excavated and installed a 50 space parking lot and roadway with curb/gutter installation. Constructed a disposal containment facility and created a new paved pathway and overlay for the mile long path around the reservoir. Wetland plantings were installed for shoreline stabilization and habitat.

West Branch Preserve

Installed 550 tons of flagstone shoreline retaining wall and a limestone trail. Installed shoreline plantings to foster stabilization and create water habitat.

Mississippi Palisades State Park

Installation of boat ramps and an asphalt parking lot in a flood plain. ADA Renovations included an accessible floating dock.

Linne Woods Forest Preserve

70’x8’ pedestrian bridge with concrete abutments.  Planted wetland plantings to create shoreline stabilization and a limestone trail.

Maple Lake Shoreline Stabilization

700 tons of outcropping flagstone was used to create a lineal wall of fishing pier and pathway for recreation. Excavated and built a flagstone wall for fishing. A fishing pier was built 80ft into the lake using helical screw piles as the base for foundation piers. Planted wetland plugs and coconut fiber rolls for shoreline stabilization and to create a natural habitat.
